The hinged lid is in excellent working order. The interior lip of the case has the hallmarks for London, a date letter (rubbed) and the maker (AC and A.C & Co.). The silversmith is Cohen & Charles (Albert Cohen and Charles Solomon, registered in 1893), located at Thavie's Inn, Holborn, London.

It is in remarkably excellent condition with no splits, cracks or repairs. There are two very slight dings on one side edge of the lid and these are barely and do not detract from the stunning beauty of this antique sterling silver Edwardian card case.
